Description of the problem	I am an owner of a 2006 bmw 325i with approximately 70k miles. Just recently, i noted that warning lights indicating failure of the air bag/supplemental restraint system. I took my vehicle to a local mechanic who indicated that the failure code was tied to an inoperable passenger detection mat. He went on to indicate that there was a documented recall/warranty extension related to this issue. I contacted my local bmw dealer who told me that the recall/warranty did not apply to my vehicle as it was manufactured after november 30th, 2005. I am filing this complaint as it is evident that the scope of their recall was not sufficient to cover all cars with this issue, as i have noted many other complaints similar to mine. I feel it is incumbent upon nhtsa to push for expansion of this remedy as bmw is clearly derelict in its obligation to address significant safety issues with its products.
