Description of the problem | I bought a new 2015 tacoma 4x4 and it has 77,000 miles on it now. There is knocking noise coming from behing the steering wheel. I took it to the dealer to have it inspected and they told me the steering intermediate shaft needs replaced. Evidently there is "play" around where the ruber bushing is. I've researched this problem and it goes all the way back to 2005 models. Why is there not a recall for this? This is definitely not a maintenance issue but could possibly become a life threatening one! I'm very disappointed in toyota for not owning up to this problem to repair it instead of passing the cost on to the consumer! |
