Description of the problem | My truck recently started having problems turning on. I noticed it only happens when the fuel tank is half-full or just below half. The truck finally starts after 4 or 5 attempts and runs fine for the most part. Sometimes when i am driving it kicks a little, like it loses a little bit of power but quickly regains it. When the tank is full it starts with no problems. I have been reading online that it is more than likely fuel related, specifically the fuel pump. The truck is just a little over 40k miles and according to toyota, the fuel pump, if that is the case, should last more than 100k before malfunctioning. I feel this is a big problem to start having with a truck that is still fairly new, and it is not cheap to replace. I am asking to please look into this as a possible manufacturer defect. Thank you. |
