Description of the problem | My 2 1/2 year old toyota tacoma with 22188 miles needed the rear brakes adjusted today. I asked that why they needed to be adjusted because i know drum brakes have an automatic adjuster whenever the emergency brake is used that i use quite often. I was told by the technician that "although my tacoma is equipped with an automatic rear brake adjuster, all tacoma's do not self adjust. The failure of this to not adjust caused me to have to pump the brakes before getting full braking power. When asked why they would not fix them i was also told that then they would need to issue recalls for all toyota tacoma's because the problem is widespread. |
