Description of the problem | The daytime running lights that came with my tacoma started running so hot that it is melting/cracking the plastic lens/housing. After a simple google search of the problem, i came across multiple forums with users who have the same problem. Some were lucky enough to have this problem occur within the warranty period but others, such as myself, were asked to pay upwards of $800 for new housings. After looking at the bulbs, i noticed that even the housings for the bulbs are showing burn marks. On the road i have seen at least 8 different toyota tacomas with the same problem, their lenses are either bubbling up and burning, or fully cracked. This safety option that came standard on my tacoma is now a safety issue that needs to be addressed. |
