Description of the problem | The airbag light on dash came on. Toyota dealer indicated the air bag clock spring on the drivers side airbag is broken and the air bag will not deploy in the event of an accident. The vehicle will not pass the state required safety inspection as is. The mechanic indicated this is a defect as opposed to a maintenance issue and the manufacturer should replace the part, however toyota has not issued a recall. I was quoted $600 to replace the part. |
