Description of the problem | My 2006 toyota corolla experienced a failure with the ecm that caused the check engine light to come on and report a p2716 error code. The problem caused the transmission to lock up spontaneously and shift very hard. My independent mechanic who read the code had an advanced odc scanner that indicated the car was idling when the problem suddenly happened. The toyota dealership personnel informed me that several cars had been coming in with this report, but the company was only addressing the issue for customers who were still under warranty. Several customers who discussed this problem on the internet reported that their car would suddenly stall while on the road, and it seems that toyota should be issuing yet another recall, but isn't. Please investigate this matter and hold the toyota corporation responsible for its defect. |
