Description of the problem | I had recall vo6 completed by a dealer last week. The 2 jam nuts were welded to the adjustment for the drag link. I noticed that my steering wheel was not centered, and looked under the truck and found that the inspection marks were on the back side of the assembly. I took a wrench and could still turn the adjuster and centered my steering wheel. I was under the impression that the jam nuts stopped the adjuster from turning, but it doesn't on mine, so i fail to see how welding the nuts to the adjuster did any good. Now the jam nuts and adjuster are all one assembly and the whole unit turns rather easily. This welding fix did nothing to remedy the problem with the recall. |
