Description of the problem | On march 19 2012, while coming home from a trip and only about 30 miles from home, we had a sudden (blowout) on the right front of our 2010 dodge ram 3500 diesel dually. The tire tread literally had peeled away from the tire! My husband was able to maintain control and bring us to a safe stop, fortunately. This event damaged the fender, headlight, heavy duty grill guard, and nerf bar. We put the spare on and drove on home. These were the original tires that came on the truck at purchase(dec 2011) and they only had 24630 miles on them. This is not our first dodge truck to own, it is our fourth and never have we experienced such and event from any of the tires. The tires in question are general american lt 235/80r17 120/117r m. S dot psab iu 9b. We just got our truck out of the shop and now i am replacing all the tires. Don't want to take a chance! |
