Description of the problem | We received a recall notice for this vehicle in december, with regard to the left tie rod ball stud on the truck. It said that the part could fracture and cause loss of control/crash without warning. We were directed to call the dealer january 6 to arrange repair. On january 6, crystal chrysler in cathedral city said they didn't have the parts and to call back in a week or so. We called again today (january 16), and they still do not have parts. The next-closest dealership (in yucca valley, ca) said it would be at least a month. When we called dodge, they said that dealerships could only order one each week, which has now been raised to three each week. This recall covers all dodge trucks made between 2008 and 2012. That is absolutely ridiculous. Who is responsible if one of us loses control due to a fracture? We haul hay with this truck, as well as a large horse trailer. This truck is supposed to be the top of the line for dodge. How long can dodge make us wait for a repair? I think we have already passed "reasonable" and "timely" with this issue.
