Description of the problem | While driving on a straight highway at about 60 mph the driveline came apart at rear differential connection. While trying to pull off towards shoulder the vehicle begin to slide instead of turn. It has seemed as if the differential locked up and just snapped at the u joint. The vehicle apparently had a recall for that problem and was reported that it was taken care of in november of 2014. It summed up to a $2700 damage. We purchased the vehicle used and only put 1003 miles on it when this problem occurred. This vehicle was converted into a emergency response vehicle for our company and we were fortunate enough this did not happen in a 911 response settings. The dealership has investigated the recall work and has notified us that it has never been fixed. |
