Description of the problem | my dodge ram 1500 (2010) had its fuel pump fail. I would lose power while driving and had difficulty starting. In order to start the vehicle, i would have to turn the ignition to the on position, wait a moment or two, then start the truck. If i didn't wait the truck wouldn't start. Sometimes while accelerating from a stop or even to pass, i would notice a lack of power as if the engine was starving for fuel. Two or three times it would stall while waiting at an intersection for the light to change to green. I took my truck to a dodge dealer for the problem and was told it was because the fuel pump only lasts 4 to 5 years and that was why it failed. I had to pay to have it replaced. Since i didn't have over $800. 00 i had to purchase an extended warranty plan in order to get it changed. |
