Description of the problem | Service antilock brake system and traction control error while driving. First started shortly after repair for steering recall (required welding) in december 2019, vehicle miles ~23,500. This would occur without warning, irrelevant to road, weather conditions. The issue persisted, comes and goes, progressively getting worse over time. Took in to dealer for service. Dealer indicated that the hydraulic control unit is defective and needs replacing, work order states direct ground fault. Part on order. I believe the cause is when they welded the jamb nut for the active recall, by grounding the negative lead to the chassis without disconnecting the batteries before arc welding. Based on previous complaints posted on this site and others, the common denominator is starts occurring shortly after the recall is completed. |
