An incorrect tire pressure monitoring system (tpms) sensor could have been installed during production causing the sensor to not display the low tire pressure warning indicator. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) number 138, "tire pressure monitoring systems."
 Consequence summaryWithout a warning indicator, the driver will be unaware if low tire pressure occurs, increasing the risk of a crash.
