Description of the problem | When vehicle shifts to reverse the side mirrors tilt down to show parking lines. When the vehicle returns to drive, the mirrors tilt up back to the factory reset position rather than the position previously set by the vehicle operator. The driver may not notice the mirrors are misplaced until they are on the road. This is a safety issue. The driver has can reasonably expect the mirrors to return to the previous position. All other cars with backup mirror tilt return to pre-set position. I have contacted ram and they claim this is the intended function of the mirror / electronics. My local dealer confirmed that ram says this is correct function and that the safe return of mirrors to pre-set position is only available with a higher luxury trim option. |
