Description of the problem | Takata recall. For over six months my family -- including a 5 year old and a three year old in child seats in the rear -- has waited for a fix to the airbag issue, which makes it apparently dangerous to have someone (wife or husband) in the passenger seat. We are moreover concerned that any explosive debris would of course injure a child in his child seat in the back, which is not really shielded by the separate seats up front. At what point will this impossible situation be remedied? We need to have full use of a safe car for our small family. We cannot forever be expected to rent cars for trips and more. The latest recall reminder we received in the mail -- regarding the potential for a fire due to the window switch -- did not even note the takata recall or warning to not use the passenger seat! |
