Description of the problem | I have a 2008 pontiac g6 it began having a jerking problem with the steering wheel and after taking it to a local mechanic shop was told that it needed a new rack and pinion. After making this repair the car continued to have the same symptoms of the steering wheel jerking left and right while driving as well as while sitting still. This is a major safety hazard as the steering will jerk hard and you have to pay close attention to the steering due to not knowing when it is going to happen. Replacing the rack and pinion cost over $300 to fix. Took the car to the local dealer and they drove the car and stated it needed a eps motor and controller. Then was told that it would be over $600 to fix. |
