Description of the problem | Driving to work on a winter day, had the rear defroster on to de-ice some ice on back rear window. I heard a "pop" sounded like a balloon popping, thought i had a flat, started to slow down, looked in my rear view mirror, that is when i saw that my back window was shattered. Continued on to work, trying to avoid bumps on freeway. No luck, when i drove over a bump the glass started falling into the back of the car. When i got to work tried calling dealer, kept getting put on hold, called insurance company i asked them if a certain glass company was on their list of repair shops, it was, i had to pay a $100 deductible, the rear window of car was replaced. I believe it was a faulty heating element in the rear window. |
