Description of the problem | I have just found out i have lost 2nd gear and 4th gear is on its way out on my car. Apparently this is a problem that ford has known about at least since 2012, according to an online ford motor company publication, maybe even earlier. The publication states that it affects 2007-2008 ford escapes and mercury mariners. What i want to know is, if they knew about it at least five years ago, why wasn't there a recall and if not a recall, some kind of financial assistance/compensation for the repairs? I've shopped around for prices and the best i could find was $2200. 00 for the repair plus another $225. 00 for a rental to use while my car is being repaired. The repair is going to take 3-5 days. |
