Description of the problem | I purchased my mercury mariner 2006 in 2005. While under warranty, i brought in the vehicle several times to the dealership for service due to the gas pedal sticking. I would try to accelerate and it would stick and not accelerate. After several visits they determined it was a fluid problem or it needed to be cleaned. The problem still persisted after maintenance was performed. At my last visit, the part was replaced. The pedal still sticks, but i am now out of warranty and cannot afford to play guessing games with my dealership at costs to me. On a couple of occasions the vehicle did accelerate rapidly without cause, however my main problem has been the gas pedal sticking. It typically happens during cold humid climate. |
