Description of the problem | My 2007 lincoln navigator ultimate 4x4 engine stopped running suddenly like it ran out of gas. There was a half a tank of gas in the vehicle. The vehicle would crank and crank but would not start. I troubleshooted the issue to a failed fuel pump. When i pulled the fuel pump out of the fuel tank i noticed that the wiring going to the negative side of the pump was melted. This is extremely dangerous that the pump was submerged in gasoline but it got hot enough to melt the plastic on the pump and wiring. There should be a recall for this issue. *js |
