Description of the problem | I noticed the dash board getting shiny with a sticky feel and it continued to grow in density over months until about 6 months ago when the car wash company i use, told me they have been seeing a lot of that in lexus and toyota models. In essence, my dashboard is melting and the glare from the dashboard/windshield is increasing which is affecting my visibility when driving. Lexus said that since my car is out of warranty and there is no official recall yet, there is nothing that they can do except charge me $1500 to replace the dashboard. They acknowledged they are beginning to see more frequent cases of this. *js |
