Description of the problemCar was in park idling . Had foot on braketo shift to drive. Car jumped into reverse and accelerated try to apply pressure to brake could not stop hit vechile to the back of me at a high rate of speed. Could not stop till i hit the car behind me. I totalled my vehicle and the van i hit. This accident could of been deadly if a child had walked in between the two vehicles. The car was out of control. I found an article in consumer reports that had my 94 jeep as a safey problem . Where the car is missing a brake/transmission interlock which would of prevented my accident if they had a safety recall. There have been 151 injuries and 5 fatalities and jeep doesn't feel it is a saftey issue. What would it take before they are forced to notify the consumer that these car have a real saftey issue. I could of killed a group of kids in that parking lot. I hope they don't wait for this kind of accident. *ak
