Description of the problem | Got letter of recall n45, took to dealer told needed oem trailer hitch & referred us to tom bell collision center, they stated it couldn't be done until jeep bumper/rear end was fixed cost of $150. 00, didn't have the money until 03/17/2015. On 03/17/2015, took back jeep to tbcc was told by [xxx] that the work should be done if [xxx]. [xxx] gave us the quote in 2014. Came in & confirm the quote stating there no problem & the oem trailer hitch would be installed. We left vehicle & expected to be called. 24 hours later we still hadn't been called so we called tom bell collision & s/w crystal who in turn referred us to . Stated jeep didn't need any work and the hitch was put in & that he didn't understand what they were suppose to charge us for. Went to p/u jeep & there was no hitch installed. S./w [xxx] again and she stated that she was going to call , we waited by the jeep. [xxx] came back & stated that a sticker that told "how to put the hitch on" was placed on the vehicle, we asked where since my wife & i got under the vehicle to see if any work was done. She didn't know, but she quoted as to nothing needed to be done but the sticker. How is this sticker suppose to save any lives in the vehicle if we get hit, they might as well put a band aid on the problem, literally. Now i've tried calling the recall center at (800) 853-1403 stayed on the phone for over two hours and no one answers but a recording of music. Then we called the vehicle safety hotline at (888) 327-4236 s/w a [xxx] got a ref# [xxx] & was told to call the manufacturer at (800) 992-1997 & we been on hold for 48 minutes and still holding. What needs to be done to get any one to listen or fix this problem.... A lawsuit? I also would like to know what happened to the oem trailer hitch that tbcc received back in 2014 since it wasn't used on my vehicle.
