Description of the problem | My research on this issue shows a rather alarming rate of transmission failures on 1993-1995 jeep grand cherokees. Chrysler without any fight agreed to pay half the cost of repair. I believe they have been doing this with owners who call them to report the problem, in an attempt to keep debate quiet about potential for a recall. The failed transmission component was unavailable for replacement for 6 months due to "national back order". Both the dealer and the transmission shop who performed the work, indicated "... We see more of these than we should." |
