Description of the problem | I was traveling on the interstate and heard a loud bang, like a gunshot overhead and glass fell into the cabin on myself, wife and two kids. The sunroof on our 2014 infinity qx60 was closed, but had exploded into thousands of pieces. I observed no road debris or falling meteors that could have struck the sunroof and caused it to explode. Upon further investigation, it appears that spontaneously exploding sunroofs are an increasing problem that manufacturers and dealerships refuse to acknowledge, which is also our experience as we were forced to file an insurance claim in order to replace the sunroof. |
