Description of the problem | 2006 g35x sedan - when opening the hood a loud creaking sound is made and the front fenders were scraped by the hood of the vehicle. The vehicle was never in any kind of accident and worked just fine when previously opened. Checked on the internet and apparently its a very common problem for the hood hinges to become bent or fail to be lubricated causing the hood to shift and in some cases even bend the hood/front fenders of the vehicle. There is no mention of needing to lubricate this part in the manual for standard maintenance. As it only just happened i have yet to find out if the local infiniti dealer will be covering the damages under the certified preowned warranty. |
