Description of the problem | The anti-lock braking system module (abs) has burned out and is happening so often, infinity is unable to supply the demand and there is a nationwide back order for the part. After waiting 2 weeks for the part beginning 10/31/13, my mechanic disconnected the abs module, so that i can have transportation because he does not know when the part will be available. I no longer have use of abs and this also keeps vehicle dynamic control from functioning. As of today's date 12/09/13, i am still waiting for the part and driving without the use of safety features during this wet winter months. It may be worth noting that the low end of this repair at an independent shop is $1400 and high end $2100. A cost many people may not be able afford leading to more disconnected anti-lock braking systems on the road. |
