Description of the problemVehicle would randomly stall out at 50 mph+ and control of power steering would be lost (battery light & vdc light would come on dash), rendering the vehicle a dangerously fast moving lead sled. Power to the vehicle would resume after a few moments. Many trips to the dealership about this potentially deadly problem yielded no explanation or fix for the problem. After conducting my own research on the internet, it was finally determined to be caused by a malfunctioning crank shaft sensor. The sensor would get too hot and shut down, causing the loss of power to the vehicle. After a few seconds of cooling, power would resume. Apparently a tse bulletin was issued for this problem, but it did not include the vin for my car since it was produced later in the model year. The sensor (a $40 cost part!) was replaced free of charge at the dealership only after putting up a fight. Infiniti/nissan needs to re-evaluate the scope of affected vehicles involved in this potentially deadly issue or be held responsible should someone die when their car stalls out at 65mph.
