Description of the problem | The door lock actuators are failing in a "lazy" manner in my 2005 inifiniti fx35. It started with the passenger side lock and now includes the rear hatch. When unlocking or locking the doors either with the fob or with the switch on the driver side door, these doors intermittently will not lock or unlock. The frequency at which it does not work is increasing with time. The danger is that i have to manually check if the door are locked. Even when they are locking i can never be sure if they are locked because i never know when they will stop working again. This is a common problem described on nissan and infiniti forums, which indicates a design issue either in the electrical system or the actuator itself. The cost of replacing all actuators is around $2000, which many owners have had to do. |
