Description of the problem | The vehicle is very new- only 7000 miles on it. I was driving on a major interstate at approximately 60 mph when the vehicle suddenly shut down. The engine just shut off and no power. The engine shut down while we were travelling on a highway!! There were children in the car, and luckily i was able to pull to the shoulder without being struck. Needless to say it was a very dangerous situation- we could have been killed. The car then would not start. We had 3/4 tank of fuel. It required to be towed to the dealer , pepe infiniti in white plains, ny. The dealer has had the vehicle over a week and has not been able to determine what happened. They state that the fuel was tested for contaminants but came back clean. Now they want to give the vehicle back saying that they dont know what happened but "maybe" it was the fuel. Really? They had fuel tested and it was fine. I think they and the manufacturer are covering this up to avoid widespread problems. How can they not determine the problem? If this happens again we can potentially be killed!! What about the other vehicles pout there? What if it happens to them? Something needs to be done- this needs to be investigated!! |
