Description of the problem | While driving on an interstate highway at 70 mph, the engine turned off without warning. The eco-mode lights came on with "system failure" warning. I was able to coast into the breakdown lane. The car would not restart right away. After working with the tow truck driver, we were able to get the car started after about one hour. I did not feel safe driving the car so it was towed to my home. The next morning, it was towed to the dealer for repairs. They contacted infiniti's tech line and was told this is a known issue and they are working on a fix. To avoid this happening again, they recommend keeping the gas tank above 50% full. They do not have an eta for the fix. I have contacted infiniti consumer affairs and they could not tell me anything more. I feel the vehicle is not safe to drive. I have attached the repair order from infiniti. |
