Description of the problem | While stationary, the c02able for the automatic sliding door snapped on this minivan, and another i owned. This renders the door inoperative, and is a safety issue should passengers become trapped inside. The door either won't open, or cannot be opened manually because the remaining cable holds it shut. The diameter of the cable appears incredibly small, and much too weak to adequately operate the door. Replacement cables can be purchased online that purport to have twice the tensile strength. Honda continues to use defective cables and should be made to correct this, instead of charging consumers $1500 to fix the doors. |
