Description of the problem	On 02/19/19, while traveling on the pa turnpike, i turned my winshield wipers on, only to have them come up 3/4 of the way on my windhield and stop. Subsequently, my wipers became inoperable. Thankfully, there was only a slight rain, and not continuous rain or snow falling at the time, or this could have resulted in a serious crash. I had the wiper assembly replaced same date, $259. 678, for labor and parts at a gm dealership. I was told this was not a recall at this time and was not covered. My 2015 gmc terrain had approx. 75,000 miles on at the time of this incident. This incident resulted from corrosion to the wiper assembly, involving corrosion to a transmission ball joint, which is gm recall on previous model years, and is also a current gm recall in canada only for this year, however, us models are not. The ball joint separated due to corrosion and causes complete failure to the windshield wiper system. Gm is dragging their feet on making this a us safety recall as canada has it for the 2010-2017 years.
