Description of the problem | Brakes failed completely at low to moderate speeds both going forward and in reverse. Brake pedal went flat to the floor and the vehicle failed to stop. Initially occurred november 7, 2018 and has periodically recurred since then. As of march and april 2019 it has begun to recur more frequently. After the initial occurrence i took the vehicle immediately to the dealer. They could not replicate the problem and took no corrective action. They did recommend replacing the front brake pads and machining the rotors, which i had them do. Mileage was 44,522 at that time. It is back with the dealer today and the focus seems to be the brake vacuum pump. Of course, the vehicle is now out of warranty so i'm waiting to see if they will perform the repairs at gmc's expense or not. If not, i will likely begin contacting other owners to create a group large enough to initiate a class action lawsuit. |
