Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2015 gmc sierra 1500. While driving various speeds, the vehicle began to squeak and shake. The vehicle was taken to ferguson gmc in norman, oklahoma twice where routine service was performed. It was diagnosed that dirt and debris between the leaf springs caused squeaking noises. The dealer cleaned and lubricated the leaf spring pads and stated that the noise was not present after the initial repair. Upon taking a test drive, the noise from the leaf springs ensued. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and stated that the vehicle operated the way it was designed. In addition, the manufacturer stated that once the vehicle was out of warranty, the failure would be considered a manufacturer's defect for which the contact would be financially responsible. An unknown tsb was issued regarding the failure. The failure mileage was 24,000. |
