Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford ranger extended cab xlt. The contact was driving 45 mph when the front passenger side tire detached from the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to a private mechanic where the mechanic confirmed that a nut had detached from the wheel. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and the current mileages were 3,000. Updated 03/16/12 *bf the consumer stated as he was driving, the steering wheel suddenly jerked itself out of his hands and pulled to the right. The consumer ended up in a muddy ditch where he slid to a stop against a fence and some small trees.
