Description of the problem | I have a extang encore tonneau cover on my 2010 ford ranger that flew backwards while driving down the road damaging the rear fiberglass panel. The front latch assembly has a poor design in which water drains down inside of the latch assembly and freezes and ice builds up. You think the panel is secured when it is not. Extang needs to redesign the latch assembly to prevent water from getting inside the latch assembly. When i contacted extang they said they haven't had anyone else complain about this. They sent me a new plastic washer and o-ring for the latch but water still drains into the assembly. |
