Description of the problem | While driving on i-85 south approximately 50-60 mph in moderately heavy traffic, between exits 27 and 26, the car sounded like it dropped out of gear while accelerating. I was able to merge to the shoulder of the highway. The car continued decelerating and the "wrench light" appeared. The car would not accelerate at all. When stopped (at the ramp for exit 26), the car rattled and idled very hard and was shaking. The battery light appeared, then the oil lamp appeared and the car shut off completely. I was towed an hour later to keith hawthorne ford in belmont. On monday, july 29, 2013, the service manager, stated that the throttle body had failed; when they hooked-up the car to the testing machine, it did not show any codes. They replaced the failed throttle body, i paid for repairs and have the failed throttle body in my possession. |
