Description of the problem	I was driving on a main street at 40 mph when my fusion suddenly lost power. I was able to pull over in a left turn lane. Both the check engine light and the wrench light came on. I was able to restart the car and took back streets at a reduced speed in order to complete the remaining 3 miles to my home. I was able to drive the car to the nearest ford dealership the next morning. Apparently, the problem is a defective throttle control. It was replaced for a price slightly less than $500. The replacement comes with a 12 month, 12,000 mile warranty. Contacted ford customer service to vent my frustration on this expensive maintenance item. Response from ford was very disappointing. My claim was denied since my car is less than 4,000 miles out of warranty. I was fortunate that this event did not occur on a highway and i was close to my home. Searching the internet showed that this is a common failure with ford fusions. This is the first ford i have purchased and will be the last ford i will purchase. It seems shortsighted on the part of ford to ignore the value of quality and customer satisfaction. I have had my fusion in every three months for routine maintenance, but i see no point in continuing to pay a premium for service at a dealership when i know that ford will not stand behind their vehicles.
