Description of the problem | Vehicle goes into "limp-home" mode suddenly and unexpectedly. Happened on i-95 and was lucky i could pull over without getting killed. Dealer could not find problem although this should have been well-known to them by then. Happened several times since and got worse and now car is immobile and too dangerous to drive. Apparently a problem with fuel injection throttle body which ford is well aware of and part is back-ordered 7-10 days (they say). Nhtsa initiated an investigation of problem in feb 2013 but ford has not informed customers of this very dangerous situation nor offered any fix. Seems unconscionable to me. What does nhtsa propose to do about this and why hasn't it done so? This situation is literally without exaggeration a danger to human life and the manufacturer does nothing. What is nhtsa for? |
