Description of the problem | Traveling on i-40 east of nashville the engine quit and the wrench light came on. I almost got rear ended trying to get off the interstate. This is the 8th time in 14 days this has happened. I took the car to the ford dealer and they "cleaned the throttle body", the first time it happened 13 days ago. I limped the car off of i-40 to the ford dealership in mt. Juliet, tn. They diagnosed a throttle body failure and said the car computer could not tell the position of the throttle and shut the engine to idle. Very dangerous, especially at speed on a multi lane highway. This is a known issue to ford. This will injure or kill people someday if it has not already happened. |
