Description of the problem | The ev system is no longer working. The hybrid battery is healthy and the owners manual states it is expected to last the lifetime of the vehicle. Many others have noted this issue as the battery "aging out" as programmed by ford. A suggested remedy is to reset the battery to age >0;<10. Without this reset, the hybrid runs on only the gas motor. At times, this delays acceleration both forwards and backwards as the gas motor (ice) starts back up after stop. This hesitation can easily cause a wreck when pulling into traffic from a stop. |
