Description of the problem | 2010 ford focus driver's front brake pad completely worn away prior to 18,000 miles, took in for warranty coverage and told if the calipur was bad it would be replaced per warranty. Ford tech stated caliper was sticking but i was over the 18,000 mile timeframe for maintenance issues. I contacted several independant brake companies and was told that there was no reason for the brakes to fail at that mileage and age. Ford wanted to charge almost $500 for repair. Took to another independant brake service place and was told that the caliper is sticking, had to replace driver's front brake pad as it was worn metal to metal and did damage to the rotor. No warning that brakes were going bad until the pad was completely worn away at which time i contacted ford and took it in. Ford refused to recogize it was a defect. |
