Description of the problem | In march 2020, ford issued a safety recall of my vehicle for toe link failures, and offered to fix the car in the third quarter. This did not come soon enough for me! On may 28, i was driving north on wisconsin ave in bethesda, md near the intersection with woodmont. Abruptly, my left rear toe link failed and i lost control of the car and swerved into another lane. Fortunately i was only going about 35 mph and there were no vehicles in the other lane. I drive a lot with my family in this vehicle at freeway speeds and this incident could have killed all of us!! I have writen to ford and asked them to pay for the replacement of both rear links, which cost me $587. 14. Their recall notice states ford is not suggesting that people stop driving the car, but again, i or my family were in great danger with this defect. |
