Description of the problem | I was traveling on the i24 at 65 mph when the ford flex suddenly began to slow to zero. It was still running but would not accelerate. It nearly caused a major accident. I coaster to a stop and turned off the car. After a few minutes, i cranked it and it ran ok for about 5 minutes, but the check engine light was on. I drove it to the ford shop immediately. They said the accelerator assembly was defective. I replaced it at a cost of over $400. The vehicle is only 3 years old with only 40,000 miles. I saw online that this had happened to others as well. This is an extremely dangerous problem that has occurred with many flex owners and should be recalled before others lose their life. |
