Description of the problem | Rear passenger strut snapped on 5 hour highway drive. When lifted at the garage it was discovered that wood screws were used to secure the strut brackets instead of bolts. One of the screws had already fallen out of the strut that had snapped and on the rear drivers side, one of the wood screws used was loose and half way out. The type of screws used were wrong because there was nothing to tighten them or hold them in place securely as a bolt with a nut would and they turned and loosened as vehicle was driven. 2016 purchased from a dealership on 9/7/2019 with 30k miles. |
