Description of the problem | I own a 2005 ford f150 supercrew pickup. While driving i tried to lower the driver-side front window. As soon as i touched the power window switch the window fell all the way down into the door and became inoperable. After taking the inner door panel off i could see a mess of snarled cable inside the door. The local ford dealer wants over $400 to fix this problem. The service tech at the dealer admitted this was a problem he sees regularly and from what i have read on the internet i should expect to see the other 3 window regulators fail as well. This could be a safety issue as the window drops quickly and unexpectedly. The window could break or startle the driver enough to cause and accident. |
