Description of the problem | Ford fuel pump driver corrodes badly causing no start and/or total failure of engine power. Reduction of power or engine stalling can and will happen at highway speeds. When engine stalls driver can lose power steering power brakes and control vehicle. This is known by ford. Ford along with a aftermaket company has redesigned the part. The updated part has standoffs along with a protective coating preventing corrosion. The corrosion of the part happens faster in the salt belt states. I replaced mine and the part had a hole in it letting water and parts of metal inside unit. I still have part if needed. Do an internet search and you will find allot of examples of this issue. This issue affects millions of vehicles. |
