Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2001 ford f-150. The contact stated while driving 60 mph the vehicle suddenly accelerated up to 80 mph; however, when the brakes were applied that did not slow the vehicle down. The contact shifted the vehicle into neutral gear and when the brakes were applied the speed decreased to 50 mph and the contact shift the vehicle back into drive gear. The vehicle continued to accelerate and the contact was forced to kick the accelerator pedal in order to decrease the speed. The contact did not take the vehicle to a dealer or local mechanic. The contact did not call the manufacturer regarding the failure. The failure mileage was 124,000. |
